Tutor FAQ
The things tutors ask us before applying — answered plainly.
- When and how do I get paid?
- Approved, completed lessons enter a short review hold (typically 24–72 hours) and are then released to your chosen payout method — Nigerian bank, UK/US bank, Wise, or any Stripe-supported region. Every payout is traceable in your dashboard.
- What is the platform fee?
- 0% commission on your hourly rate — you keep 100% of every hour you teach. Parents cover a small service fee and payment processing on top, separately from your earnings.
- Am I locked in / exclusive to EduTrust?
- No. You're an independent tutor. Teach elsewhere, keep your private students, set your own schedule. We only ask that bookings made through EduTrust stay on EduTrust so families are protected.
- Who handles taxes?
- You do — you're a self-employed contractor. We provide a clean, exportable earnings history for your records. Nigerian tutors: payouts are in NGN; international tutors: USD, GBP, or Wise.
- What happens if a parent cancels?
- Cancellations made inside our protection window still pay you in full or in part, depending on notice. The exact policy is shown when you accept a booking — no surprises.
- Who owns my teaching materials?
- You do. EduTrust never claims rights to your lesson plans, slides, or worksheets.
- Do I need a degree?
- Not always — we look at qualifications, experience, and your teaching simulation together. Subject expertise and a clear demonstration of teaching matter more than any single credential.
- How is my application reviewed?
- Applications are reviewed by qualified educators and verification specialists. Our review team evaluates identity, qualifications, subject expertise, and teaching readiness using a standardized review process to ensure fairness and consistency. Final approval decisions are made by human reviewers.
